CCE Ambassadors

In Endeavour Primary School, we aim to inculcate the right values in our pupils and mould them into good citizens who contribute to the betterment of others and care for the environment. In our efforts of doing so, we seek the help of our team of diligent and reliable CCE ambassadors in taking on crucial roles to support their teachers and peers in these pertinent areas.

Every year, our teachers are tasked to nominate the CCE ambassadors from each class by selecting pupils who display exemplary behavior at all times and serve as a good role model to their peers. A training session is usually conducted at the beginning of each year for our CCE ambassadors where they undergo a briefing about their roles and responsibilities in supporting their teachers with school programmes, ensuring the cleanliness of the school and championing the school-wide cyber wellness outreach efforts.

In the classrooms, our CCE ambassadors play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness of their classrooms by encouraging their peers to follow a given checklist and execute their classroom cleaning duties diligently and consistently. Similarly, at the canteen, our CCE ambassadors play an important role in ensuring cleanliness and promoting values of care and responsibility by encouraging their friends to finish their food to prevent food wastage, throw the food waste into the swill bin and return their plates and cutlery into the correct trays and to do a wipe down after eating. In addition to ensuring the cleanliness of the school, our CCE ambassadors help promote care for the environment by reminding their peers to engage in recycling activities.

Next, our committed and reliable CCE ambassadors also take on an important role of assisting and supporting their Form, Co-Form and subject teachers with classroom activities involving the various CCE school programmes such as National Day, International Friendship Day, Racial Harmony Day and Total Defence Day. In their efforts of displaying the school values and serving as a good role model to their peers, our responsible CCE ambassadors play an active role in promoting Cyber Wellness by modeling safe and responsible online behaviours and channeling efforts into sharing stories and key messages in their classrooms with aims to promote an awareness of Cyber safety.

CCE Ambassador programme and training

In Endeavour, it is of pertinent importance to provide our pupils and staff with a conducive environment. Hence, efforts have been made to ensure that our school is clean and safe. For our school, we have entrusted this crucial task to our team of reliable CCE Ambassadors.

Our CCE Ambassadors have been selected by the teacher of each class. They have been tasked to take on the crucial role of helping to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our school.

A training and briefing session was carried out in Term 1. In this session, the CCE Ambassadors were briefed on the intent of the programme as well as their roles and responsibilities. The roles and responsibilities include cleanliness in the class, in the canteen as well as cyber wellness.

In the class, our trusty CCE Ambassadors will have to assist their Form and Subject teachers on other CCE programmes such as Racial Harmony Day, Total Defence Day and National Day. They will also need to ensure that their peers help to keep the class clean.

In the canteen. our CCE Ambassadors have been tasked to encourage their friends to finish their food in order to reduce food wastage. They also help to ensure that their friends throw the food waste into the swill bin, remind their peers to do the wipe down after they have finished eating as well as remind their friends to return their plates and cutlery into the correct trays.

As for cyber wellness, our CCE Ambassadors are role models who actively influence their peers to create a safe and kind online community. They role model safe and responsible online behaviours as well as championing school-wide cyber wellness outreach efforts by sharing positive messages, stories and news.

P5 VIA Making Gifts for Elderly @ SWAMI

P5 VIA visit to the Old Folks’ Home has been part of the Applied Learning Programme P5 Interdisciplinary Project Work for the past years. Despite not being able to make a physical visit, our students thought of innovative ways to bring cheer and happiness to the elderly. During Form Teacher Guidance Period (FTGP) lessons, the students created beautiful coasters. The elderly were pleased to receive these gifts.

2020 Cleaner’s Appreciation Day

The school showed our appreciation towards our school cleaners yearly on Cleaner’s Appreciation Day. Our Primary 2 students gave out handmade cards containing handwritten thank-you notes and a box of tea-time treats to our school cleaners. The school also affirmed our security guards, lab technicians and administrators for their contribution to the school on this day. We hope that our students will consistently practise the habit of greeting and thank our unsung heroes.

EDP Cares: Kindness Quilt Challenge

Inspired by the national “Singapore Kindness Movement” (SKM), our school aims to advance the cause of kindness in our school by creating a kindness quilt.

The pupils created quilt squares describing their own acts of kindness. Joined together, the squares represented many different ways to show kindness.

With this activity, we hope that our pupils will take time to focus on everyday acts of kindness as it makes us all strive to do more. Like a ripple, we want to spread kindness in Endeavour.

Keep our Neighbourhood Clean Activity

In Term 3 2019, our P5 Prefects Leaders gathered to discuss, suggest and initiate ideas towards service learning. They bounced off ideas firstly by identifying problems or issues in our neighbourhood, followed by giving suggestions on the possible activities that could engage the entire Prefectorial Board Leaders. Eventually, the pupils decided to embark on the project- Keep Our Neighbourhood Clean (Litter-picking).

The cleaning activity was mainly spearheaded by our P5 Prefects Leaders. Each of them took charge of one small group. Each group was then assigned an area around the neighbourhood to do litter-picking.

During the activity, the pupils spotted quite a large number of cigarette butts, plastic wrappers, bits of shattered glass as well as plastic bottles on the grass patches around the neighbourhood. While picking up the litter, our pupils realised how difficult it must be for cleaners to clean up the neighbourhood on a daily basis. This allows the pupils to learn the importance of showing compassion towards our community cleaners as well as develop a sense of responsibility towards our environment.

Lastly, in order to heighten the awareness of the residents around the neighbourhood, our P5 Prefects Leaders also designed effective posters. Posters such as emphasising on the importance of keeping our neighbourhood clean as well as saving our environment through recycling were created. The Canberra Community Club helped to print and display these posters at the RN noticeboards to spread these important messages.

Together, EDP aspire to create more bright spots around the neighbourhood @ North West and will continue to engage our pupils in doing so.

Clean Plate Campaign

In Endeavour, we believe that avoiding unnecessary food wastage starts with our own dining habits. Hence, we started the Clean Plate Campaign with the aim of teaching students to be mindful of the amount of food that they eat so as to avoid food wastage. In addition, through this campaign, students are able to understand the impact of food wastage on the environment and the society.

During this programme, volunteers from the Food from The Heart (FFTH) will share information with our students to raise their awareness on the amount of food wasted in Singapore and the benefits of not wasting food.

Our CME teachers also conduct lessons to sensitise students to the impact of food wastage on society. Through these efforts, we hope to encourage all our students to cultivate the habit of taking only the food they can finish and leave behind no leftovers.

EDP Cares: SAVH Fund Raising

EDP Cares: SAVH Fund Raising is an annual event in Endeavour. It is organised to raise funds for the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), a voluntary welfare association that seeks to integrate the visually handicapped into the community.

Besides selling flags, we also invite our friends from the SAVH to sell ‘touchart’ items that they have created. Our pupils were inspired when they realised that people who are visually impaired work hard and are capable of doing many things, just like all of them. The pupils also get to experience how it feels to be visually impaired through various games and activities.

Family Household Chores Appreciation Cards

With the "2019 Family Household Chores Appreciation Card", we hope that it can encourage our pupils to proactively help their parents/guardians in doing household chores, so as to show care and concern for their family members. The card also serves as a reminder to the pupils that it is their own responsibility to take charge of certain tasks (especially of their own rooms) and that they have been taught in CCE to clean up after themselves both at home and in school.
