Reflections on CCE / VIA activities

During this morning's assembly programme, Miss Cheah has taken us down the memory lane to review the various CCE / VIA activities conducted throughout this year.

Please do pen down some of the thoughts that you might have. You could write about the positives experiences that you had while participating in one of these eveents. Or, your could point out the areas that you felt could have been done better. Better yet, you may even want to suggest future activitives and events that you feel that would have a big impact on the lives of fellow students in the area of CCE /  VIA education.

Wait no more! Give your comments generously and encourage your calssmates and friends to do so too. Let us hear what you have to say and let the whole school hear your voice. Do it now!

My Good Deeds Journal

"Good Deeds with Sharity" is a new initiative as part of the Community Chest's Sharity Club and it aims to reinforce Caring and Sharing values to nurture the younger generation to become socially responsible citizens and this would encourage our students to be more compassionate.

With the "My Good Deeds Journal", students will be able to gain awareness on how they can care for others at their home, school and community. Here's are some selected examples of the journals done by our Primary 3 students.

After reading through the journals, what are your thoughts? Why not pen it down too? You may also want to share with everybody on your personal opinion on how you may care for others at home, school and community. So, go on and write it down in the comments below!

Performing Household Chores

Based on the positive response received last year, our CCE/VIA team rolled out the Family Household Chores Appreciation Card project once again this year!

We hope to encourage our students to assist their parents/guardians in doing household chores, as a way to show care and concern for their family members. It is also their responsibility to take charge of these tasks at home (especially of their own rooms).

This year, we hope to also garner greater parents' engagement. We would like to encourage parents to pen down your thoughts upon seeing your child's efforts and work through the completion of the household tasks.

One of our P6 boys, Bryan Sun from 6A, has been consistently helping his parents with the household chores. You may want to view his appreciation card that was nicely done up:

Seen here is another of our P6 boys, Brandon Goh Yi Heng from 6B. who is cooking instant noodles for his mother.

Next up, this P3 girl is Juana Little Sia from 3B. She and her mother were making pancakes together. She brought the pancakes to school and shared with her classmates.

EDP Community contributes to Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund

"On 25-May-2015, our School launched the initiative to facilitate the fund-raising by Singapore Red Cross Society for its disaster humanitarian relief effort in aid of Nepal Earthquake. A presentation to raise awareness of Singapore's response to the disaster and to appeal for donations was given during the morning assembly to the students and staff. A donation booth has been set up and manned by the parent volunteers of EDP Parent Support Group. The students and staff responded overwhelmingly with generous donations and many well-wishing notes. This 3-days fund-raising donation drive concluded with tremendous success and the EDP community was happy to be able to make a difference in helping the people of Nepal."

The video of the presentation can be found here.
